Peanut Butter & Chocolate Bars
Claim this listing
The following recipe are peanut butter and chocolate bars known to my family as “Grandma Cookies.” This posting is dedicated to the memory of Grandma Prager of Houston, TX.
Combine the following and mix by hand:
- 1 cup graham cracker crumbs (generic is fine)
- Tip: Place graham crackers in a gallon zip-lock bag and use a rolling pin to crush the crackers.
- 1 stick melted margarine
- 1 cup smooth peanut butter
- Tip: Fill a measuring bowl to 1 cup line with water. Add peanut butter to bowl until the water reaches the 2 cup level. Drain water. Yay for water displacement!
- 2 cups sifted powdered sugar
Then, press the mixture in a lightly greased 13 x 9 x 2 pan
In sauce pan, combine
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 Tablespoons Margarine (or butter)
- 4 Tablespoons of Milk
Bring to boil
Remove from heat and add 12 oz of semi-sweet chocolate chips
Spread chocolate mixture over the peanut butter mixture.
Chill
Remove from fridge, let sit for one hour, and cut in to squares.
